Job Description
Position Available: Bartender

By creating an atmosphere of casual elegance, Orchard Restaurant strikes the optimal balance between luxury and accessibility. Located at the base of Calgary’s premier luxury residential project, SODO, Orchard sits just outside the downtown core. The well-appointed dining room is reminiscent of European supper clubs, with ample seating, a custom-fabricated bar and a series of chandeliers which envelop the space in a warm, inviting glow. Orchard is open seven days a week, and is a destination restaurant for both downtown and the surrounding area.

Responsibilities:
Cliffs Notes: Be a responsible, friendly team player.
• Learn, understand, and promote the Orchard cocktail and food menu to explain it thoroughly to guests
• Contribute to strategies and processes to promote loss prevention.
• Ensure adherence to AGLC mandated drinking standards.
• Maintain a clean, functional and safe environment for patrons and staff.
• Attend and contribute to meetings focused on profit, environment, people, and product.
• Lead and embody our culture, mission, and values.
• To complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Cliffs Notes: Have a basic understanding of cocktailing, and be a people person.
• Industry and restaurants serving experience is a must, bartending experience is preferred but not required.
• Strong experience with serving and understanding tasting notes and palette and expressing these items to guests.
• Be available to work a flexible schedule including late nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Experience providing and receiving direct and honest feedback.
• Responsible, organized, driven, and determined to achieve, lead by example, and improve.
• Experience with POS systems (particularly TouchBistro) would be an asset.
• Pro-Serve Certified.
