Job Description
The Boilershop department currently has a vacancy for a hardworking, dedicated Qualified Welder to join their team. The successful candidate must be able to perform general welding on structures, trailers, trucks and other equipment and machinery. The successful candidate must repair existing components while working accurately and neatly; this applies to repairs and maintenance performed in the workshop and onsite. The successful candidate works in conjunction with the Boilermakers and must be proficient in all forms of welding. The successful candidate must furthermore ensure that their work space is kept neat and tidy (housekeeping) in the workshop and onsite.

Qualifying Criteria:
• Must have a relevant trade test certificate in Welding
• Minimum 5-8 years’ experience in a similar environment (Steel and or Industrial environment)
• Must have experience in pipe welding work
• Extensive knowledge of power tools
• Enjoys technical activities
• Knowledge of Health and Safety Rules
• Ability to work under challenging conditions
• Excellent communication skills

• Must be prepared to work overtime when required
• Strength to handle materials & tools (physically fit)
• Must have sober habits
• Good hand-eye coordination
• Able to work at heights and in confined spaces
