Job Description
PACKAGING WORLD manufactures printed and laminated flexible packaging in reels and bags for SA's leading FMCG food brands. Our BRC A grade accredited plant is based in Westmead Pinetown.

We’re looking for a Trade-Qualified Flexographic Printer to join our team. Our operation runs across three shifts, Monday to Saturday (4 x 12-hour shifts of which 2 shifts are day and 2 night).

Experience required:

Minimum 2 year experience in operating a Flexographic Printing machine.

Responsibilities & Tasks
β€’ Operate advanced print technology to deliver client orders on time and to high-quality standards.
β€’ Maintain and troubleshoot machinery with a strong focus on safety and efficiency.
β€’ Examine job orders to determine details such as quantities to be printed, customer specifications, colors, and raw material
β€’ Check material for the corona treated side
β€’ Set up the machine as per the customer's specifications, anilox, job card, artwork
β€’ Complete and sign all sections on the printing sheet of the jobcard
β€’ Complete checklist on each shift of any downtime or breakdowns
β€’ Performing regular quality checks
β€’ Inspect and examine print for print clarity, color accuracy, conformance to specifications, and external defects.
β€’ Ensure proper ink coverage, alignment, and registration.
β€’ Reposition printing plates, adjust pressure rolls, or otherwise adjust machines to improve print quality, using knobs, handwheels, or hand tools.
β€’ Set and adjust speed, temperature, ink flow, and positions and pressure tolerances of equipment.
β€’ Operate equipment at optimum speed.
