Our client, a leading logistics and supply chain provider, is seeking an experienced and results-driven Warehouse Operations Manager to oversee their state-of-the-art facility in **Pretoria, Gauteng, ZA**. This critical role demands strong leadership, exceptional organizational skills, and a deep understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management, and distribution processes. Responsibilities:
Manage all day-to-day warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, order picking, packing, and shipping. Develop and implement strategies to improve warehouse efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness. Oversee inventory management processes, ensuring accuracy, minimizing stockouts, and controlling shrinkage. Lead, train, and motivate a team of warehouse staff, fostering a safe and productive work environment. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and security regulations within the warehouse. Implement and manage warehouse management systems (WMS) to optimize operations and reporting. Analyze operational data to identify trends, performance bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement. Collaborate with other departments, including procurement, sales, and transportation, to ensure seamless supply chain flow. Manage vendor relationships for warehouse supplies and equipment. Develop and manage the warehouse operational budget. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members. Drive continuous improvement initiatives across all warehouse functions.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in warehouse operations management. Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale warehouse operations. In-depth knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant logistics software. Strong understanding of inventory control, material handling, and distribution best practices. Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills. Proficiency in data analysis and performance metrics reporting. Experience in implementing lean principles or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus. Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a warehouse setting. Strong problem-solving and organizational abilities.
