An exciting opportunity exists for a Millwright at NATIONAL BRANDS LIMITED Rosslyn, Snacks. The successful incumbent will be responsible for the high-speed packaging machinery and will be reporting directly to the Maintenance Foreman.

Key Performance Areas:

Health and Safety:
• Consistently follow and promote safe working practices.
• Comply with all company health and safety policies and procedures.

Maintenance:
• Set up machinery in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot packaging and food-processing equipment, including conveyors, Ishida multi-head weighers, Bosch and Betapack form-fill-seal machines, and FastBack feeding systems.
• Configure timing, cams, and limit settings on equipment.
• Ensure machinery is available and running efficiently to meet production targets.
• Perform maintenance, repairs, and fault-finding activities.
• Service and maintain pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Conduct planned electrical and mechanical maintenance.
• Install, upgrade, and repair machinery as required.
Problem Solving & Projects
• Investigate root causes of equipment or plant failures.
• Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives within the factory.
• Participate in the planning and implementation of engineering projects.
• Execute machine modifications and project-related tasks.
Customer Service
• Provide responsive engineering support to ensure the production department receives excellent service.
Downtime & Reporting
• Accurately report engineering downtime data to the Engineering Foreman.
• Ensure downtime reduction targets are achieved

Minimum Requirements:

Experience:
• At least 3 years’ experience as a Millwright in high-speed packaging machines and plant equipment maintenance and repairs required within a FMCG environment.
• Experience on one of the following: cartoning and case packing machines, Cermex, Bosch, Multi-head weighers or Robotic palletising equipment will be advantageous

Qualifications:
• Matric / Grade 12
• Trade tested as a Millwright at an accredited training facility
• Completed Mechanical / Electrical Engineering qualification or minimum N4 qualification

Additional Requirements:
• Occupational Health and Safety Regulations
• Pneumatic and Electro-Pneumatic systems
• PLC programming and VSD set-up knowledge is advantageous Knowledge of QMS, HACCP and GMP’s is an advantage
