Job Description
Our client is looking for a suitable qualified and experienced individual who can provide good engineering practices reliable preventative maintenance while adhering to company standards and procedures in ensuring that the assets of the company are always maintained to the required standards. To oversee and coordinate effective training development and assessment of assigned apprentices. Responsible areas and departments are Weaving Knitting Preparation Make-up Dyehouse Warehouse Factory Shop and Admin.

The incumbent will be responsible for the following :

Maintenance :

Ensure that predictive & preventive maintenance is effectively performed to minimize downtime and maintenance costs.

Attend machine breakdowns as quickly as possible to minimize downtime.

Ensure that safety standards are maintained and best practices followed when maintaining equipment.

Solve problems as they arise and ensure that any major problems have been communicated to the Engineering Manager ASAP.

Manage critical spares to minimize downtime due to equipment breakdown.

Fix damaged or worn parts to be put back into production to save money on spares wherever possible.

Control all relevant tools and critical spares so that they are available when needed.

Manage maintenance expenditure (spares / contract work) in line with the budget.

Maintain housekeeping standards to prevent accidents or incidents.

Maintain documentation and records for traceability and analysis purposes.

Development :

Assess modifications or new equipment requirements to meet new product developments.

Provide input to improve current machinery and operations to optimized cost.

Mentor :

Act as a subject matter expert to assist other artisans in resolving technical issues.

Act as a mentor and coach to uplift people improve motivation and provide life skills.

Facilitate performance management and disciplinary processes.

Conduct training as and when required to ensure skills transfer and

Electrician Trade Test. 5 or more years working experience as an Electrician in a Textile environment. Good communication and Interpersonal skills. Technical and training skills.
