Job Description
Our Client In the healthcare industry is seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to join their team based in Durban.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Technical diploma electrical engineering heavy current or Trade test and Wireman’s License.
• Valid Driver’s License

MAIN JOB FUNCTIONS
• Comply with regulatory requirements of SHEQ, SOPs and Legislation.
• Assist with electrical projects.
• Install electrical equipment.
• Install electrical wiring in buildings according to regulations.
• Install distribution boards and connecting thereof according to regulation.
• Install air-conditioning, refrigeration and other equipment power supplies.
• Verify all electrical installation and issue certificate of compliance or accept from contractors.
• Travel to Zone Sites and/or branches to perform electrical maintenance.
• Check power supply, earth faults and other reasons why equipment is not working.
• Repair or replace necessary parts and reassemble.
• Test repaired equipment.
• Make up control circuits.
• Maintain protective stop switches.
• Perform routine checks on electrical installations and equipment with the assistance of the SAP plant Maintenance Schedule.
• Respond to maintenance work requests (job cards) from divisions.
• Change MCB’s in distribution boards.
• Re-route circuits.
• Repair electrical faults.
• Replace ballast, globes and fluorescent fittings when required.
• Maintain lighting and back-up power systems.
• Ensure that tools and equipment are signed in and out of stock.
• Manage the lifespan of tools and equipment through ongoing routine maintenance.
• Order equipment and materials from suppliers according to job cards or workshop requisitions, authorised by electrical supervisor.
• Perform other reasonable duties if and when required from superior.
