Introduction

National Manufacturing company invites applications from trade tested (pref. Olifantsfontein) Maintenance Electricians based in their KZN factories.

KPA - To ensure the efficient, safe, and uninterrupted operation of all electrical, automation, and control systems within a fast-paced production manufacturing environment.

This role is critical to the proactive maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimisation of high-tech equipment incl. PLC's, hydraulic / pneumatic systems, advanced automation and robotic technologies.

The incumbent will play a key role in sustaining plant productivity, supporting continuous improvement initiatives,

and driving operational excellence through technical innovation and reliability engineering.

You need at least 3 years+ post trade experience in heavy industrial engineering environment.

PLC and electronics experience essential (must be able to do fault-finding)

Exposure to robots and automation essential

Fault-finding skills, hands on, even though PLC-oriented,

must still be willing to do traditional electrical maintenance tasks in a factory environment

Experience in injection moulding and/or manufacturing environment would be a definite advantage

Duties & Responsibilities

Duties:
• Conducted preventative maintenance and fault-finding to ensure optimal plant and machinery operation.
• Factory and machinery maintenance
• PLC knowledge + Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
• Maintained and troubleshot injection molding machines and related equipment
• Designed and wired automation projects, material flow systems and PLC programming.
• Performed substation maintenance and installations, enhancing plant safety and reliability.
• Robotics and safety circuits
• Wired PLCs, drives and contactors in a factory setting, ensuring machinery met operational standards.
• Installation and testing of machines, ensuring timely project delivery.
• Conducted fault-finding on various equipment, improving maintenance turnaround times.
• Worked with milling machines and lathes, contributing to precision manufacturing projects.
• Continuous improvement initiatives and managed energy efficiency projects
• Trained apprentices and supervised staff to ensure adherence to safety and operational standards.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Matric (N3)

Olifantsfontein Trade Test (or equivalent)

Understanding of technical drawings (charts. diagrams)

Automation, Energy Efficiency, Project Management Certificates beneficial

10+ years post trade test experience in manufacturing environment

PLC's, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Automation, Robotics, AC/DC Drives

Other

Living in KZN Westbound or prepare to move and come for interviews & relocate on own cost

Own car and drivers license

Well spoken and well presented

Medically fit (will undergo medical before offer)

Clean criminal record, Clear credit record (or arrangements)

Computer literacy (Advanced Excel))

Business English and understand Afrikaans and basic Zulu

Package & Remuneration

Max R200 per hour
