Job Description

Join a growing welding team as a Travel TIG Welder supporting an 8+ week project with potential to extend. You will perform high-quality TIG and MIG welding on stainless steel and mild steel components in a clean, organized warehouse environment, working from blueprints and adhering to strict safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities
• Perform TIG welding on stainless steel and mild steel, including 16-gauge butt welds or thinner, while maintaining high quality and precision.
• Complete MIG welding tasks as needed on various components and assemblies.
• Read and interpret blueprints to understand weld symbols, dimensions, and fabrication requirements.
• Weld 304 stainless steel components, ensuring proper technique and finishing.
• Perform pipe welding with attention to alignment, penetration, and overall weld integrity.
• Use argon backup gas when required and ensure proper gas coverage for high-quality welds.
• Maintain welds free of spatter and rework, meeting strict visual and quality standards.
• Work within designated welding booths equipped with snorkel systems to control fumes and debris.
• Collaborate with team members in sheet metal, tubular, and prove design (fabrication and MIG/TIG) departments to meet production and project timelines.
• Operate grinding tools and related equipment to prepare and finish welds as needed.
• Follow all safety procedures and use required PPE at all times in a large warehouse environment.
• Work 50+ hours per week, including Monday through Saturday shifts, to meet project demands.
• Maintain an organized work area and contribute to a clean, efficient, and safe shop environment.

Essential Skills
• Proven TIG welding experience on stainless steel and mild steel.
• Ability to pass a TIG weld test prior to starting work.
• Comfort and proficiency welding 16-gauge butt welds or thinner.
• Experience welding 304 stainless steel components.
• Experience with pipe welding applications.
• Ability to work with argon backup gas and understand its proper use.
• Strong MIG welding skills for fabrication and production work.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately.
• Experience welding stainless steel with high-quality, low-spatter results.
• Ability and willingness to work 50+ hours per week, Monday through Saturday.
• Ownership of a welding helmet suitable for TIG and MIG welding.
• Ownership of steel-toe boots for use in the warehouse environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Experience in fabrication environments, including sheet metal and tubular welding.
• Experience working in organized, safety-focused warehouse or manufacturing facilities.
• Comfort working in dedicated welding booths with fume extraction systems.
• Willingness to travel for project-based work and adapt to varying shift schedules.

Work Environment

Work in a large, 256,000-square-foot warehouse that is very clean, organized, and not excessively loud, with safety as the top priority. Welding operations are divided into sheet metal, tubular, and prove design (fabrication and MIG/TIG) departments. Each welder has an individual welding booth equipped with a snorkel system to vacuum welding debris and improve air quality. All required PPE is provided, except for a welding helmet and steel-toe boots, which you must bring. Shifts run Monday through Saturday, with first shift from 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and second shift from 3:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., supporting at least an 8-week project that may be extended. The environment emphasizes cleanliness, organization, and adherence to safety protocols while working with modern welding equipment and support systems.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
