Position Overview The Plumbing Technician is responsible for all aspects of the initial sale, installation, maintenance, inspection, operation, and repair of plumbing systems in residential and commercial buildings. This includes installing and repairing sinks, toilets, and other plumbing fixtures.

Key Responsibilities Complete plumbing, drain cleaning, and other related service and install calls. Provide a Good, Better, Best estimate on every call. Serve the clients of 1 Tom Plumber by expertly servicing customers’ entire plumbing systems.

The ability to generate $40,000+ per month in revenue. Wear floor savers while in the client’s home and maintain a neat work area when performing a repair or scheduled service. Always explain to the client the service you are performing.

Explain and show the client how 1 Tom Plumber provides superior service. Establish customer rapport to sell the right products and services. Re-check all plumbing repairs and installations after completion to ensure everything is working properly and that we did indeed fix it right the first time.

Educate and assist customers in choosing the best finance options and maintenance plans. Show yourself as professional and knowledgeable to win new referrals and repeat business. Maintain your truck so that it is neat and clean inside and out at all times.

The truck is one of the best billboards that 1 Tom Plumber has—park it for maximum impact whenever possible. Work alongside customer service and dispatch to ensure overall success of the business. Always be safety conscious, both on the job and while driving.

Participate actively in all training exercises and morning meetings. Maintain a clean, organized job site and well-inventoried truck. Train and mentor apprentices to ensure quick, accurate repairs and installations.

Be accurate and timely with invoices, time cards, curbside feedback, and option sheets. Obey the company Code of Ethics and the Team Rules. Live the Core Values daily as a representative of 1 Tom Plumber.

All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications 2+ years of technical and trade experience. ServiceTitan experience a plus. In-depth knowledge of maintenance and repairs of plumbing systems. Understanding of current regulations within the field.

Excellent interpersonal communication skills on a technical level. Able to work both independently and as part of a team. General knowledge of power tools and techniques for safe use. Plumbing troubleshooting and repair skills.

Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record. Strong customer service skills.

Physical Demands and Work Environment Climbing up and down ladders and equipment. Ability to lift 50 pounds. Ability to carry a minimum of 25 pounds up to 250 feet unassisted. Operate handheld power tools. Wear personal protective equipment. Ability to work more than 40 hours per week and up to 12 hours per day. Ability to work on call and on weekends as needed.
