Sales Driver

As per the Ministry of Labour and Social Development, the minimum wage for Bahraini nationals in driver roles is BHD 400 per month effective January 2026. Expatriate light vehicle drivers require LMRA-approved contracts starting at BHD 300 per month, with heavy vehicle drivers at BHD 350. Overtime is compensated at 1.25 times the regular hourly rate, calculated over 208 hours monthly.

Foreign drivers need a sponsor to apply for a work permit via LMRA, with a minimum salary of BHD 275 per month for 2026 approvals. Requirements include a valid home country driving license, medical fitness certificate from Hamad Town Clinic, and police clearance. Permits are issued for 24 months and renewable.

Heavy truck drivers must have at least 2 years of verified driving experience and hold a Category 4 or 5 Bahraini license. No high school diploma is required, but drivers must be aged 21-60 and pass a vision test. Light vehicle roles require 1 year experience.

Submit passport copy valid for 6 months, attested driving license, employment contract stipulating BHD 300 minimum salary, medical report, and 3 passport photos via LMRA Expat Management System. Sponsors handle submission online, with processing completed in 7 working days. Originals must be presented for verification.
