Job Description
Key Outputs

Supervise and lead all on-site Security Officers to ensure consistent performance and discipline.
Ensure timely relief of officers and proper shift handovers.
Maintain a professional and disciplined security presence at all times.
Ensure all officers are trained, understand their job descriptions, and comply with BWE SOPs and access control procedures.
Monitor adherence to standing orders and ensure all posts are manned and officers remain alert.
Record and report any short-posting incidents in the Occurrence Book (O/B), with or without replacements.
Take immediate control of any incident until formally handed over to Senior Manager: Security Operations.
Report all breaches, incidents, or occurrences that may impact the site within 24 hours.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date entries in the O/B.
Respond promptly to all alarms and security alerts on site.
Review CCTV footage as part of investigations when required.
Regularly test the responsiveness and effectiveness of armed response service providers.
Provide daily feedback and situational updates to Senior Manager: Security Operations.
Brief incoming officers on incidents, special instructions, and operational changes.
Submit daily postings and ensure monthly rosters are completed on time and site coverage is maintained.
Promote vigilance by ensuring guards are trained to identify and report suspicious activity or persons.
Continuously assess site vulnerabilities and recommend improvements to enhance security.

Qualification, Experience and Competencies
Minimum Required Qualification:

Matric and / Security management certificate or diploma.
PSIRA Security Grading (A/B).
Experience in operational Site Management and guard management.
A junior managerial course will be preferable.

Minimum Required Experience:

Minimum of five to six years’ experience in a relevant role.
Proven track record Security Operations.

Minimum Required Competencies:

Being highly organized and efficient.
The ability to be professional and courteous.
The ability to work in a team.
Strong sense of discretion.
Ability to prioritise.
Excellent written and communication skills.
Proficiency with MS Office.
Ability to work independently.
