Joining UChicago Medicine means becoming part of a team that truly makes a difference in people's lives and pushes the boundaries of healthcare excellence.

Within this prestigious system, the Multispecialty clinic at Orland Park is seeking a Patient Concierge Float to join its new care team. This full-time position (1.0 FTE) involves dynamic and critical support roles requiring extensive walking and standing throughout the shift. The Patient Concierge Float serves as a vital resource to ensure patients access care in a seamless, uncomplicated manner. The role requires sophisticated communication skills, exceptional customer service, and the ability to respond promptly to patient and care team inquiries.

The Patient Concierge at Orland Park is responsible for ensuring that exam rooms are maintained and appropriately checked out, managing patient check-ins, and performing electronic record documentation tasks including scanning. This role supports multiple clinical activities and clinics, providing personalized navigation services by escorting patients throughout their visits to enhance their experience. Moreover, the Concierge evaluates data to identify opportunities for service improvements, acting as a patient advocate and an information resource.

The position demands proficiency in using multiple computer applications to manage appointment scheduling, revenue cycle activities such as insurance verification, pre-certification, authorization, and collections. The Patient Concierge is also involved in employee engagement, patient experience initiatives, and interdisciplinary process improvement projects, contributing to the overall improvement of care delivery. Flexibility is key, as the Concierge must be prepared to support various clinics as operational needs fluctuate.

The work schedule includes rotating shifts Monday through Friday, with the possibility of starting as early as 6:30 am and ending as late as 10:00 pm, plus rotating weekends every two to three months. The role is non-union and located onsite at the Orland Park facility. UChicago Medicine prioritizes transparency in compensation and benefits, offering a competitive salary range based on market data, candidate experience, and internal equity. The organization also maintains a strong focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion, ensuring all qualified applicants are evaluated fairly regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, or other protected characteristics.

All UChicago Medicine employees are required to complete a pre-employment physical, background check, drug screening, and comply with flu vaccination requirements, with medical and religious exemptions considered. This ensures a safe and healthy environment for staff and patients. UChicago Medicine offers comprehensive benefits to eligible employees, reinforcing its commitment to supporting its workforce. Joining UChicago Medicine means becoming part of a mission-driven institution dedicated to advancing medical innovation, improving community health, and delivering compassionate care.
