As per U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, nonimmigrant workers can apply for H-2B visas for temporary cleaning positions, with a fiscal year 2026 cap of 66,000 visas plus supplemental allocations up to 64,000. Employers must obtain temporary labor certification from DOL showing insufficient US workers. Applications require Form I-129 filed at least 75 days before start date.

About 70 percent of workers have a high school diploma or equivalent, and employers often prefer less than 6 months of related experience.
