As per the Ministry of Labour, the minimum wage for welders in Bangkok is 400 THB per day as of 1 January 2026. Welders receive 1.5 times the daily rate for overtime beyond 8 hours on weekdays. This rate applies to all provinces under the 2026 wage announcement.

As per the Ministry of Labour, welders must not exceed 48 hours per week or 8 hours per day without overtime. Overtime is paid at 1.5 times the hourly rate after these limits. Annual leave entitlement starts at 6 days after one year of service.

As per the Ministry of Labour, foreign welders need a valid work permit issued under the Alien Work Permit system with a 90-day reporting requirement. Required documents include passport, employer sponsorship letter, and health certificate, with fees of 3,000 THB for one-year permits. Applications must be submitted at provincial labour offices.

As per the Department of Skill Development, welders need at least 2 years of verified experience or completion of a 240-hour vocational training course for certification. Certification from an approved institute is mandatory for industrial roles. No formal degree is required but skill testing is compulsory.
