The minimum wage for truck drivers is set at 450 THB per day in Bangkok and major provinces starting January 1 2026. Renewal of a Type 2 or Type 3 professional driver's license costs 1,050 THB for five years effective from February 2026. Applicants must complete a 6-hour refresher course at a Department of Land Transport approved center before renewal. Late renewals after the expiry date incur an additional 500 THB penalty fee.

Bus drivers earn an average of 22,500 THB per month including allowances under the 2026 wage structure announced by the Ministry of Labour. This figure covers 26 working days with an extra 300 THB daily hazard allowance for inter-provincial routes. Payments are disbursed via bank transfer by the 7th of each month.
