SECURITY GUARD & ADMIN STAFF

As per the Ministry of Manpower, under the Progressive Wage Model for the security industry, the minimum qualifying monthly salary for entry-level security guards is S$2,900 as of 1 January 2026. Supervisors earn at least S$3,900, with overtime pay at 1.5 times the hourly rate capped at 12 hours per day. Salaries must include basic pay, fixed allowances, and pro-rated AWS.

Foreigners from Bangladesh, China (excluding Fujian), India, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, and Sri Lanka can apply for a Work Permit (WP) for security guard roles. The monthly levy is S$650 regardless of age or service length, with a 35% foreign worker quota and maximum employment tenure of 14 years. Employers must provide S Pass insurance coverage of at least S$15,000.

Applicants must be at least 16 years old, Singapore Citizens, PRs, or valid pass holders, medically fit with no serious criminal record, and have completed Primary 6 education or equivalent. No prior experience is required but must pass the WSQ Basic Licensing Examination after the 16-hour Security Guard Course. Foreigners need WP approval before licensing.

Submit NRIC/passport, recent passport photo, medical examination report (valid 6 months), WSQ training certificate, and self-declaration of criminal records via PLRD e-Services portal. Application fee is S$100 for a 2-year licence, with processing time of up to 14 working days. Approved licences are non-transferable and require renewal 3 months before expiry.
