Plumbing Foremen

As per the Ministry of Labour, the minimum basic wage for plumbers in the private sector is QAR 1,000 per month as of 2026, under Cabinet Resolution No. 24 of 2021. Employers must provide accommodation or an allowance of QAR 500 to QAR 1,000 per month and food or a QAR 300 monthly allowance. Overtime is paid at 125% of normal hourly rate for first 8 hours, 150% thereafter.

Skilled plumbers with 5+ years experience earn QAR 3,500 to QAR 6,000 per month gross including allowances as regulated under the Wage Protection System in 2026. Basic wage starts at QAR 1,000 with end-of-service gratuity at 21 days' salary per year of service. Bonuses are not mandatory but common at QAR 1 month's salary annually.

Foreign plumbers require a work visa sponsored by a Qatar employer, approved via the Ministry of Labour portal within 1 week of job offer. The visa is linked to a 1-year renewable Residence Permit (RP) costing QAR 200 issuance fee paid by employer. Medical exam and fingerprinting at Hamad Medical Corporation are mandatory before entry.

Plumbers must have a high school diploma or equivalent vocational certificate in plumbing plus minimum 2 years verifiable experience as per Ministry of Labour occupation classification No. 3231. Skills attestation from origin country is required for non-GCC nationals. No university degree needed but trade test may be administered on arrival.
