Job Description
We are seeking a vigilant and physically fit Security Guard to protect personnel, assets, and infrastructure at our oil and gas facility (onshore/offshore). The ideal candidate will have experience in industrial security, access control, and emergency response. You will be the first line of defense against unauthorized access, theft, vandalism, and potential security threats in a remote or sensitive environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Access Control & Perimeter Security
Control entry and exit points for personnel, vehicles, and contractors at facility gates, helipads, or marine terminals.
Verify identification, permits, and vehicle manifests against entry logs.
Conduct patrols of facility perimeters, pipelines, storage areas, and restricted zones to detect breaches, leaks, or suspicious activity.
Monitor CCTV cameras, alarm systems, and radio communications continuously.
2. Asset Protection & Anti-Theft
Prevent theft of company assets, tools, and consumables (a significant issue in remote camps).
Inspect outgoing vehicles and personnel baggage (where permitted by policy) to prevent unauthorized removal of property.
Secure 'Red Zones' and high-security areas (e.g., control rooms, wellheads, explosive storage).
3. Emergency Response & Safety
Serve as a first responder during emergencies (fires, H2S releases, medical evacuations) until specialized teams arrive.
Conduct regular headcounts during evacuations or emergency drills.
Enforce safety rules, such as ensuring personnel wear correct PPE before entering operational areas.
Report security incidents, near misses, and safety hazards immediately via formal reports.
4. Surveillance & Reporting
Maintain a detailed security logbook documenting shift activities, incidents, and visitor logs.
Write clear and concise incident reports.
Communicate shift handovers effectively to incoming guards, highlighting any ongoing issues.
5. Crowd & Traffic Management
Manage traffic flow at facility gates and parking areas.
Control crowds during crew changes, catering deliveries, or site events.
