Driver With Vallid Licences

As per the Ministry of Labour, the minimum basic monthly wage for migrant workers including drivers is QAR 1,000 as of 2026. Employers must provide free accommodation and food or allowances equivalent to at least QAR 400 and QAR 200 per month. Total compensation in standard contracts averages QAR 2,500 including benefits.

Foreign drivers require sponsorship from a Qatari employer for a work residence permit valid up to 5 years. The employer obtains MOL approval, issues a free entry permit, and the worker completes medical exam (QAR 100) and fingerprints for RP issuance within 30 days at QAR 1,000 fee for the first year. Renewals cost QAR 800 annually.

No formal education or degree is required for driver positions. Applicants need a valid Qatar driving license (minimum age 21), clean driving record, and at least 1 year of relevant experience for light vehicles or 2 years for heavy vehicles. Medical fitness certificate is mandatory.

Required documents include passport valid for 6 months, 6 passport-sized photos, attested driving license, medical fitness report, and police clearance certificate. Employer submits these to MOL for work permit approval within 5 working days, followed by visa stamping. No application fee for workers.
