As per the Ministry of Labour, the minimum wage for unskilled migrant workers including cleaning staff is QAR 1,000 per month as set by Ministerial Decree No. 15 of 2017, effective through 2026. Overtime is paid at 125% of regular rate for first 8 hours and 150% thereafter.

Foreign workers need an employer-sponsored work visa (Entry Permit) followed by a Residence Permit (RP) valid for 1-5 years, renewable. Requirements include a job offer, medical fitness test, and police clearance; processing takes 2-4 weeks via the Ministry of Labour portal. Cleaning staff from approved countries must enter on free visa-on-arrival if eligible or employer-sponsored visa.

No formal education or prior experience is required for unskilled cleaning staff positions under Qatar Labour Law No. 14 of 2004. Employers may prefer basic literacy for safety training, but contracts for roles specify 'no experience needed' with on-the-job training provided within first 30 days. Age eligibility is 18-60 years for migrant workers.

Required documents include passport valid for 6 months, 6 passport photos, job contract attested by Ministry of Labour, medical certificate from approved clinic, and bank statement showing QAR 1,000 minimum wage agreement. Submit via employer's online portal to MOL; approval grants Entry Permit No. 21 for work. Full set must be prepared before departure.
