Plumber

As per the Ministry of Labour Oman, the minimum wage for Omani nationals with basic education working as plumbers is OMR 360 per month under Cabinet Resolution No. 711/2021, effective through 2026. Expatriate plumbers' contracts approved by MOL start at OMR 400 per month including basic allowances. Overtime is paid at 125% of hourly rate beyond 45 hours per week.

Foreign plumbers need a job offer from an Omani sponsor, an employment contract approved by MOL specifying OMR 400+ salary, medical fitness certificate from approved clinic, and police clearance. The sponsor applies for 2-year work residence visa via ROP portal after MOL approval. Visa fee is OMR 20 per month of contract duration.

A vocational diploma or certificate in plumbing from a recognized institute plus minimum 2 years of relevant experience is mandatory for MOL work permit approval. High school completion is required for skilled category classification. Unskilled applicants are rejected per MOL standards.

Submit passport copy valid for 6 months, attested job contract, 4 passport photos, and sponsor's commercial registration to MOL via their online portal for approval within 5 working days. Sponsor then applies for visa at ROP. Approved workers receive permit valid 2 years renewable.
