Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity Downer's Sealing department is highly respected and has a great track record for delivering a high standard of work across New Zealand. With the season kicking off in September, we are looking for dedicated Chip Runners and Class 2-5 Driver Operators to join our Penrose based team. All positions are Full-Time, Permanent opportunities, with 40 hours guaranteed each week. Our crew roles are aligned to the Greater Auckland Regions AWUNZ union agreement where overtime, allowances and other penal rates are on offer.Vacancies Class 2 -4 Driver Operator:Operate rollers and/or brooms during sealing operations Complete daily plant checks and basic maintenance Support the crew to deliver safe and efficient road sealing projects Class 2 Full License + WTR required at Minimum with civil and/or chip-sealing experience ideal Class 5 Driver Operator:Drive and tow a 6-wheeler trailer Operate both automatic and Road Ranger transmission vehicles Transport plant, equipment, and materials to and from worksites Support the sealing crew as required to ensure projects are completed safely and efficiently Class 5 Full License + WTR required at minimum with civil and/or chip-sealing experience ideal Chip Runner / Labourer:General laboring activities Acting as a spotter for our Chip spreading truck Adjusting the application and manually spreading chip seal Following health and safety standards and procedures Class 1 Full license required at minimum with civil experience ideal Nga pūkenga matua | Important Skills We're looking for experienced team members and motivated people eager to grow with Downer.
