Driver: Class 5

DescriptionHiggins Wellington is looking for experienced and safety-focused Class 5 Driver to join our team. This role is responsible for operating heavy trucks, plant and machinery while supporting the successful delivery of civil infrastructure projects across the region. If you enjoy working outdoors, take pride in operating equipment safely and efficiently, and want to be part of a high-performing team, we'd like to hear from you.What You'll Be DoingOperating Class 5 trucks, plant and machinery as requiredDelivering products, plant and machinery to project sites safely and efficientlyLoading, unloading and securing loads for transportationCompleting delivery documentation, logbooks, weight records and inspection recordsUndertaking pre-start checks and carrying out routine preventative maintenanceEnsuring vehicles, plant and equipment are appropriately licensed and compliantReporting maintenance requirements, defects, incidents and hazards promptlyFollowing all company procedures, specifications and industry best practice standardsWorking professionally with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and members of the publicSupporting project teams with other operational duties as requiredWhat You'll BringCurrent Class 5 driver's licence & W, T and R endorsements.Proven experience operating heavy vehicles and/or construction plant and machineryAbility to follow procedures, plans, schedules and instructions accuratelyStrong commitment to Health & Safety and safe work practicesGood communication and teamwork skillsAbility to work under pressure and meet project deadlinesProfessional attitude and strong work ethicD Endorsement and Spill Kit Training (desirable)Knowledge of civil construction plant and equipment (desirable)Come join the Green TeamGuaranteed 40 hours per week Permanent, full-time role with long term work Opportunities to upskill and gain further training and qualifications Supportive team culture where everyone looks out for each other Z fuel discounts including a monthly free pie and coffee KiwiSaver employer contribution matched up to 4% Great benefits for you and your whānauAbout HigginsHiggins is a leading roading and civil infrastructure company in New Zealand.
