We’re looking for a skilled Maintenance Engineer to play a critical role in ensuring our plant and equipment run at peak performance.About the RoleThis is a hands-on role where you’ll be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving production equipment across our Upper Hutt site. You’ll lead preventative maintenance initiatives, respond to breakdowns, and contribute to continuous improvement projects that enhance efficiency, reliability, and product quality.You’ll also play a key role in supporting capital projects, managing contractors, and ensuring all work meets strict food safety and health & safety standards.This role includes participation in a 24/5 on-call roster, providing support for breakdowns outside of standard hours.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver preventative maintenance programmes to minimise downtimeDiagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faultsLead root cause analysis and implement long-term solutionsSupport installation and commissioning of new equipmentManage spare parts inventory and workshop organisationDrive continuous improvement and LEAN initiativesEnsure compliance with GMP, food safety, and H&S requirementsCoordinate and manage contractors on siteAbout YouYou’re a proactive and solutions-focused engineer who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
