Partnering with global brands to local dairy producers, we integrate supply chain efficiencies and sustainable practices into everything we design and manufacture.Job DescriptionAbout this opportunityWe are currently seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join our dedicated team at Pact Packaging Wellington. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining plant equipment, troubleshooting issues, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient manufacturing operations.This is primarily a Monday to Friday role; however, some overtime will be required to support planned maintenance, projects, and operational requirements.Your key responsibilities will be: Perform preventative and corrective maintenance, fault finding, and repairs on manufacturing equipment to maximise reliability and minimise downtime.Assist Production Managers with process optimisation, operational support, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing performance.Operate and monitor factory equipment safely and efficiently while meeting production, quality, and food safety requirements.Contribute to engineering, maintenance, and operational improvement projects that improve plant performance, reliability, and efficiency.Supervise sub-contractors, maintain spare parts and maintenance stores, respond to equipment breakdowns and unplanned stoppages, and accurately record maintenance activities in the MEX system.Promote and maintain excellent housekeeping standards across the site, identifying opportunities for improvement and ensuring compliance with GMP and HACCP requirements.Champion a proactive safety, quality, and environmental culture through compliance with WHSE policies, hazard reporting, PPE requirements, and food safety and quality standards.Your skills and experience:Relevant engineering trade qualification and experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.Strong knowledge of manufacturing equipment and complex plant systems.Hands-on mechanical maintenance and fault-finding capability.Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Ability to prioritise workloads and work effectively within a team.Experience leading, supervising, or coordinating others when required.Good communication skills and confidence using Microsoft Office applications.Additional InformationWhy Join Us?
