As per the Public Authority for Manpower, the minimum salary for waiters recruited through licensed firms is 220 KWD per month as of January 2026. This includes provision of accommodation and transportation valued at 70 KWD monthly equivalent. Overtime pay is 1.25 times the hourly rate beyond 48 hours weekly.

Foreigners need an Article 18 work residence permit (Iqama) sponsored by a Kuwaiti employer, renewable every 1-3 years at 3 KWD per month fee as of 2026. The employer applies via PAM portal after securing job order approval costing 25 KWD. Medical fitness and police clearance are mandatory for issuance within 90 days of entry.
