Driver holding heavy duty and/or bus passenger Kuwait driving license

As per the Public Authority for Manpower, the minimum recruitable salary for light vehicle drivers is 250 KWD per month as of January 2026. Heavy vehicle drivers have a minimum of 350 KWD per month. Overtime is compensated at 1.25 times the regular hourly rate after 48 hours per week.

Expatriates need a work visa sponsored by a Kuwaiti employer, processed through the Public Authority for Manpower, valid for 1-3 years as of 2026. The employer must submit a job offer and obtain PAM approval before MOI visa issuance. A medical fitness certificate from a PAM-approved clinic is mandatory.

No formal education is required for driver jobs, but a minimum of 2 years driving experience is mandated by PAM for work permit approval in 2026. A valid home country driving license equivalent to Kuwaiti Category 3 is necessary. Age must be between 21 and 60 years.

Required documents include a valid passport (minimum 6 months validity), attested academic certificates if any, home country driving license, medical report, and employment contract attested by PAM as of 2026. The employer submits these via the PAM online portal for work permit. Processing takes 5-10 working days.
