Office Boy

As per the Ministry of Labour & Employment, the minimum wage for unskilled workers including office boys in Delhi (Zone I) is ₹28,509 per month as of October 2026, comprising basic rate of ₹18,306 plus VDA of ₹10,203. Overtime is payable at twice the ordinary rate for work beyond 9 hours per day. This applies to establishments under the Minimum Wages Act, 1948.

No formal education or minimum qualification is required for office boy roles classified under Group X (unskilled) in the National Classification of Occupations. Candidates must be at least 18 years old and physically fit for tasks like cleaning and errands. Prior experience is not mandatory for entry-level positions.

Mandatory documents include Aadhaar card, bank account details, PAN card (if available), and two passport-size photos for registration on the National Career Service portal. Self-attested copies of address proof and any experience certificates are needed for verification. Applications are submitted online without any fee.

Under the Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code, 2020, effective nationwide by 2026, office boys work 8 hours per day and 48 hours per week with one weekly off. They are entitled to 12 days casual leave, 12 days earned leave, and 7 days sick leave annually. Spread-over should not exceed 12 hours including intervals.
