Cleaning Operatives — multiple roles

As per GOV.UK, the National Living Wage for plumbers aged 21 and over is £12.50 per hour from 1 April 2026. Overtime must be paid at the same minimum rate with no less than 1.5 times for hours above 40 per week under the Working Time Regulations. Employers must keep records for 3 years.

As per GOV.UK, non-UK plumbers require a Skilled Worker visa with a minimum salary threshold of £40,000 or the going rate for plumbers whichever is higher as of 2026. The visa lasts up to 5 years and requires a Certificate of Sponsorship from a licensed employer plus English language at B1 level. Applications must be made online with a £719 fee for up to 3 years.

As per GOV.UK, plumbers must hold an NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing and Heating or equivalent plus a valid CSCS card for site access. Three years of relevant experience is mandatory for supervisory roles and Gas Safe registration is required for any gas work. Apprenticeships must be completed through approved providers listed on the Find an Apprenticeship service.

As per GOV.UK, plumbers are limited to an average of 48 hours per week over 17 weeks unless they opt out in writing. Full-time workers receive 5.6 weeks of paid annual leave including bank holidays equating to 28 days for a 5-day week. Rest breaks of 20 minutes apply after 6 hours of work.
