Welder ( Aluminium) Location: Acton Railway Engineering Works (Acton REW)Shift: Days – Monday – Thursday 7am – 15.00pm, Friday 7am – 12 noon.Project Duration: Long-term opportunity with work secured until at least 2030Pay Rates:Umbrella - £40.54 / over time £50.76PAYE - £29.93 / over time £37.41We are recruiting for experienced Aluminium Welders, who have the ability to MIG, TIG and Stick weld, to join the Central Line Improvement Programme at Acton Railway Engineering Works. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a major long-term rail project with work guaranteed for several years.Key RequirementsWe are looking for skilled welders with:• Minimum 5 years welding experience• Proven aluminium welding experience (essential)• Experience welding on rail vehicles ideally or automotive vehicles is highly desirable• Ability to MIG, TIG and Stick weld - essential• Experience with burning processes, including:o Oxy-acetylene burningo Plasma profile burning• Fabrication experience within a heavy engineering environment• Welding apprenticeship or recognised welding qualifications• BS EN ISO 9606 welder coding (or equivalent) preferredo Candidates who require coding or re-coding will be considered, subject to assessment• A positive attitude with a willingness to learn, as additional training will be providedPreferred Background• Railway rolling stock maintenance or overhaul• Railway engineering• Automotive or commercial vehicle manufacturing and repair• Heavy engineering and fabricationWhat We Offer• Long-term, stable work on a prestigious infrastructure programme through to at least 2030• Competitive rates of pay• Ongoing training and development• Opportunity to work within a highly skilled engineering team• Career progression within a major rail engineering projectIf you have strong aluminium welding experience, particularly on rail or automotive vehicles, and are looking for a long-term opportunity, wed like to hear from you.
