Job Description
Job Title: Guest Support Security Officer

Rate: £14.87per hour

Contracted Hours: 48 hrs p/w 4 on, 4 off, days nights and weekends

Core Duties:
• Conduct rotational foot patrols around the full site, perimeter, car parks, landscaped gardens, lakeside paths, meeting areas, shops and cafes.
• Screen vehicle and pedestrian entry and exit points, providing directions where required and welcoming people to the park.
• Provide a safe a secure environment for events, sports, and entertainment taking place on the events plaza.
• Conduct regular security and health & safety equipment operability checks such as intruder alarms, defibs, first aid kits, fire alarms, intercoms, security doors.
• To respond to incidents as per SOPs and follow the directions of the Duty Shift Manager, Security Manager and Deputy Security Manager as required.
• To conduct periodic vehicle, personnel, and site searches when required.
• Project a welcoming, positive attitude in order to deliver a 5-star security and customer service experience, politely interacting with guests on the park to give directions, answer queries and refer them to others if unable to answer.
• Ability to think on feet to solve problems during difficult interactions with public to defuse and escalate conflicts using soft skills, diplomacy and street smarts to bring security incidents to amicable resolution and escort people off the park.
• Willingness to occasionally assist and support other operations departments in keeping the park highly presentable and smart, such as picking up litter and reporting maintenance if discovered on patrol.
• To maintain a smart and presentable appearance at all times, a high visible presence to deter hostile intent, and high levels of observation skills to spot when things don’t look right.

Skills:
• Sound technical and IT knowledge to operate patrols scanners, personal radios, body worn cameras, entry/ exit gates.
• Must be physically fit and active. Required to walk around the park and stand at static posts several hours a day. Apart from breaks, the workday is predominately spent on foot. In the event of incident, may be required to run for a few minutes and conduct basic physical activities.
• Must be comfortable with crowded areas, interacting with members of the public and working in a professional business setting.
• Must have ability to work both as part of the wider team and with a degree of independence and autonomy in conducting own day to day tasks and responsibilities.
• CCTV license is a plus to be able occasion cover breaks in CCTV control room.
• SIA D.S. licence required.
• Minimum 1 years security industry experience (or equivalent) required
