JOB DESCRIPTION – Packing and Dispatch Operative

Responsible to: Packing and Dispatch Manager

Purpose of Role: To pack and dispatch all incoming orders correctly and on time

Location: Parkway Link units 7&8, Kettlebridge Road, Sheffield, S9 3AJ

Employment Status: Temporary (2 months fixed-term)

Key Responsibilities

Packing Duties

· Assemble individual sexual health self-sampling kits in line with approved SOPs, quality standards, and agreed productivity targets.

· Accurately select kit components, ensuring correct LOT numbers and expiry dates are used and recorded in accordance with traceability requirements.

· Maintain full end-to-end traceability of kits and consumables, including LOT and expiry information where required.

· Ensure First Expiry, First Out (FEFO) stock rotation is consistently applied to kits and consumables.

· Complete all production and target sheets clearly, accurately, and in a timely manner.

· Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment across packing workstations and warehouse areas.

· Assist with the receipt, checking, and put-away of inbound deliveries as required, ensuring stock is correctly identified and recorded.

· Support dispatch activities during periods of high demand or operational need.

Dispatch Duties

· Accurately label and dispatch sexual health self-sampling kits in accordance with SOPs, dispatch schedules, and daily targets.

· Ensure dispatched kits meet quality and compliance requirements.

· Prioritise dispatch activities in line with KPIs, service level agreements, and operational instructions.

· Maintain complete traceability records for dispatched kits and components, including LOT and expiry data where applicable.

· Apply correct stock rotation principles (FEFO) to all kits and consumables used in dispatch.

· Collate, seal, and prepare mail sacks for daily collection in line with courier and postal requirements.

· Always maintain confidentiality and data protection standards when handling sensitive materials.

· Keep dispatch workstations and office areas clean, organised, and audit-ready.

· Provide support to packing activities as required to ensure workflow continuity.

General Responsibilities

· Work in accordance with all health and safety policies, SOPs, and risk assessments, ensuring the safety of yourself and colleagues.

· Adhere to quality, compliance, and governance requirements relevant to medical or diagnostic kit handling.

· Escalate stock discrepancies, damaged goods, expired or near-expiry items, and traceability issues promptly to a supervisor.

· Participate in training, audits, and continuous improvement activities as required.
