The Role

University College Birmingham is seeking a Packing Room Assistant to join our team. This role is essential in supporting the Bakery team and Food Lecturers by ensuring all food produced on-site is packed for sale in our commercial outlet, Cakes and Bakes.

As a Packing Room Assistant, you will be responsible for packing food items to the highest standards of quality, food safety, hygiene, and health & safety—particularly allergen compliance in line with Natasha's Law.
The Candidate
• Previous experience in food preparation and handling within a similar environment
• Strong understanding of allergen processes and packing legislation, including Natasha's Law
• Familiarity with food packaging equipment and electronic labelling systems

The successful candidate will be expected to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.
