Job Description
Location: UAEProject Scope: Gas Turbine Generator Disassembly & Reassembly Duration: 1 Month planned outage, 5-October till 5-November
Role Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Industrial Electrical Technician to execute the critical electrical and instrumentation scope for a major Gas Turbine (GT 82) and Generator overhaul. You will be responsible for the end-to-end disassembly, troubleshooting, and reinstallation of all critical electrical, instrumentation, and cabling systems, ensuring full operational integrity post-commissioning.
Core Responsibilities System Disassembly & Reassembly: Manage the systematic disconnection and removal of GT and Generator components, including structured labeling and documentation of all electrical and instrument cabling. Instrumentation Handling: Perform expert-level maintenance, troubleshooting, and re-mounting of all GT sensors and components, including:Temperature: Thermocouples and specialized temperature sensors. Vibration/Mechanical: Bearing vibration, acceleration, and speed sensors. Monitoring: Fiber Optic Detection Systems (FODS). Cable Integrity: Execute the safe extraction and re-routing of complex cabling. Maintain high standards of shielding and termination to prevent electromagnetic interference (EMI) in sensitive turbine control circuits. Support & Calibration: Provide hands-on technical support during the calibration and loop-check phases to ensure all sensors meet OEM specifications upon reassembly. General Support: Assist the broader mechanical team with all electrical and instrument-related supports required during the disassembly/reassembly sequence.
Required Qualifications Experience: 5+ years of experience in heavy industrial environments (Power Plants, Oil & Gas, or Petrochemical). Technical Expertise: Proficiency in reading/interpreting complex electrical wiring diagrams, cable schedules, and P&IDs. Extensive experience with industrial cable termination and conduit systems. Domain Knowledge: Proven track record working with Gas Turbines (GT) and rotating equipment. Safety Rigor: Demonstrated expertise in LOTO (Lock-Out/Tag-Out), Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems, and working within confined/restricted industrial enclosures. Standards: Familiarity with international safety standards and OEM installation procedures.
