Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM (In-office)

Canadian Design and Construction (CDC) is a growing mechanical contractor specializing in HVAC and plumbing systems across residential, and commercial projects. We focus on delivering high-quality project execution, strong client relationships, and reliable service.

As we continue to expand, we are looking for a Project Coordinator who wants to build a long-term career in mechanical construction and grow into a Project Management role.

Role Overview The Project Coordinator will support the Project Management team in delivering HVAC and plumbing projects from start to closeout. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and eager to gain hands-on experience in construction project delivery.

You will be involved in submittals, procurement, scheduling, coordination, and project documentation, playing a key role in keeping projects on track.

Key Responsibilities

Project Coordination & Scheduling
β€’ Assist in developing and maintaining project schedules, milestones, and deliverables
β€’ Track project progress and provide regular updates to Project Managers
β€’ Coordinate with internal teams, site staff, and subcontractors

Submittals, RFIs & Document Control
β€’ Prepare, track, and manage shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs
β€’ Maintain accurate submittal logs and document control systems
β€’ Ensure all teams are working from the latest drawings and revisions

Procurement & Equipment Tracking
β€’ Issue and track purchase orders (POs)
β€’ Coordinate with suppliers for HVAC and plumbing equipment (RTUs, boilers, pumps, fan coils, etc.)
β€’ Maintain procurement logs and monitor long-lead items to avoid delays

Financial & Cost Tracking
β€’ Assist with budget tracking, cost control, and expense monitoring
β€’ Support the preparation of progress billings and invoicing
β€’ Track and maintain change orders and extras

Site Coordination & Support
β€’ Liaise with site supervisors, technicians, and subcontractors
β€’ Assist in tracking site progress, deficiencies, and action items
β€’ Attend site meetings when required and document minutes

Project Closeout & Commissioning
β€’ Assist with O&M manuals, warranties, and closeout documentation
β€’ Coordinate as-built drawings and turnover packages
β€’ Support commissioning, equipment startup, and TAB (testing, adjusting, balancing)

Qualifications
β€’ 1–3 years of experience in construction, HVAC, or mechanical project coordination
β€’ Mechanical Engineering degree.
β€’ Basic understanding of HVAC and plumbing systems.
β€’ Strong organizational and time management skills
β€’ Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
β€’ Excellent communication and coordination skills

Technical Skills
β€’ Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
β€’ Experience with Bluebeam, Procore, AutoCAD (basic), or similar software is an asset
β€’ Strong Excel skills for tracking logs, procurement, and cost control
