DescriptionAWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on.The Infrastructure Operations team is seeking Data Centre Technicians to join our expanding team. As a Data Centre Technician, you'll troubleshoot and resolve a range of infrastructure issues including server hardware, fiber, networking, and related problems.To be eligible for this role you will need to hold or be able to obtain an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency clearance. Your work will help maintain one of the world's largest information system infrastructures.Key job responsibilitiesThis role involves physical data centre activities including capacity planning and tracking, rack deployment, cabling, hardware and software troubleshooting, and decommissioning.You'll maintain system reliability by prioritising and resolving trouble tickets efficiently, serve as the escalation point and technical troubleshooter for all systems issues, and deep dive into Linux server problems.You'll meet 24x7 on-call requirements during shift rotations, install and configure racks per internal SLAs, triage and resolve trouble tickets for all regional devices, and serve as a technical point of contact for high severity issues.This position requires the ability to lift and rack equipment up to 20 kg, work in cramped spaces or elevated locations following health and safety guidelines.Basic Qualifications Valid and active driver's license Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair Ability to cover 24x7 shift rotationPreferred Qualifications Experience working in a data center environment (racking and stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment) Experience with Network Protocols: TCP/IP, Ethernet, L2/L3 technologies Knowledge of Linux/Unix AdministrationAcknowledgement Of CountryIn the spirit of reconciliation Amazon acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community.
