As per the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) Labour Market Observatory, the average monthly salary for welders (occupation code 7212) is AED 4,630 as of 2026 data. Entry-level welders earn AED 3,000 per month, while experienced ones earn AED 6,500 including allowances. All wages are disbursed monthly via the Wage Protection System.

Foreign welders require a job offer and MOHRE-approved employment contract to apply for a work permit valid for 60 days initially. Upon arrival, obtain a 3-year residency visa from GDRFA with medical fitness test and Emirates ID. The process costs the employer AED 200-500 in fees.

A minimum of high school diploma or ITI/vocational certificate in welding plus 2 years relevant experience is required for welder positions. International certifications like AWS D1.1 must be attested by UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Age limit is 18-60 years for work permits.

Submit passport copy valid for 6 months, 4 passport photos, attested welding certificates, medical fitness certificate from approved center (AED 370 fee), and employer-submitted job contract. Applications are filed online via MOHRE portal, processed in 5 working days. Labour card is issued for AED 300.
