Plumber Technician

As per the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE), there is no federal minimum wage for plumbers in the private sector as of 2026. Employment contracts approved by MOHRE typically specify a basic salary of 2,500 AED per month for entry-level plumbers plus 700 AED housing allowance. Wages must be paid monthly via the Wage Protection System by the 10th of the following month.

Employers sponsor foreign plumbers by applying for a 60-day entry permit via MOHRE for 100 AED. Requirements include being aged 21-60, passing a medical fitness test costing 320 AED, and submitting an attested plumbing skills certificate. The residence visa is then issued for 2 years with employer payment of 200 AED quota fee.

MOHRE requires no formal degree but a minimum of 2 years practical experience in plumbing and an attested vocational training certificate from the applicant's home country labor ministry. Applicants aged 18-60 must pass a skills mapping test if required by the profession category. UAE nationals need only basic training for entry-level roles.

The employer submits 6 passport copies valid for 6 months, 4 passport-sized photos, MOHRE-approved employment contract, medical fitness certificate, and attested experience letter via the MOHRE portal. Processing takes 5 working days and costs 250 AED for the work permit. Labour card issuance follows at 300 AED per year.
