Foreign drivers require an employer-sponsored work visa valid for 2 years, renewable, including a job offer letter, passport valid for 6 months, and medical fitness certificate from an approved UAE center. The employer applies via MOHRE portal, with processing completed in 5 working days as of 2026. A security deposit of AED 300 is required for visa issuance.

A valid UAE driving license Category 3 for light vehicles is required, with international licenses convertible within 150 days of arrival for AED 600 fee as of 2026. No formal education is mandated, but applicants must be aged 21-65 and pass a medical fitness test costing AED 350. One year road experience is sufficient for entry-level roles.

Required documents include a colored passport copy valid for 6 months, 4 passport photos, attested driving license, and pre-medical fitness report. The employer submits these via MOHRE's online system along with employment contract specifying AED 4,000+ salary. Approval grants a 60-day entry permit for finalization.
