MOHRE requires employment contracts for cleaning staff (unskilled category) to specify at least AED 1,000 per month for work permit approval as of January 2026. Overtime pay is 125% of the basic hourly rate, calculated as total monthly salary divided by 208 hours. Q What visa and work permit requirements apply for international cleaning staff job seekers in UAE in 2026?
International applicants need an employer-sponsored work permit from MOHRE costing AED 250, valid for 2 years and renewable twice. Following MOHRE approval, a 60-day entry permit is issued, then residency visa via ICP within 30 days costing AED 370 for medical test. Employers cover all fees under Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021.
Q What are the eligibility criteria like education and experience for cleaning staff jobs in UAE?
No formal education or degree is required for cleaning staff roles; applicants must be at least 18 years old and pass a medical fitness test costing AED 370. Prior experience is not mandatory, but 6 months preferred for faster hiring. Age limit is 60 years for unskilled workers as per MOHRE guidelines effective 2026.
Q What documents are needed and what is the application process for cleaning staff jobs in UAE?
Required documents include passport valid for 6 months, 4 passport photos, medical fitness certificate, and police clearance. Employers submit the unified contract to MOHRE online via their portal for approval within 5 working days, then apply for work permit.
