Getting Into Packing Work Around Egypt
Look, packing staff jobs in Egypt pop up more than you'd think once you start checking the right spots. From what I've seen in Cairo and Alexandria, factories and warehouses always need hands for boxing up goods, labeling, and loading trucks.
Thing is, it's not glamorous. You stand for hours, lift boxes, and deal with heat most days. But pay can beat sitting around waiting for something better.
What the Day Actually Looks Like
Start early, usually around 7 or 8. Someone hands you a list or points to pallets. You grab items, check them off, wrap or tape boxes, stack them neat. Breaks are short. By lunch you're already feeling it in your back and shoulders.

Some places have AC in the packing area. Most don't. In my experience the ones near industrial zones in 6th of October City run nonstop shifts when orders pile up.
- Basic reading and counting skills
- Ability to lift 20-30 kilos without issue
- Showing up on time every day
That's really it for entry level. No degree needed.
Where These Jobs Actually Show Up
Online boards like Wuzzuf and Bayt get postings daily. Facebook groups for job seekers in Egypt also drop leads fast, especially ones focused on Cairo or Giza factories.
Walk-ins still work if you head to areas with lots of manufacturing. Ask at the gate, be polite, and have your ID ready. Sometimes they hire same day when someone quits mid-week.
And don't ignore smaller distribution centers. They pay a bit less but train quicker and treat people decent.
Pay and Hours Talk
Most start around 4000-5500 EGP monthly depending on the company and shift. Overtime bumps it up when there's a rush. Night shifts pay extra but mess with sleep.
Bonuses happen at some places around holidays or big export seasons. Not guaranteed though.
Real talk, it won't make you rich. But with two people working packing roles you can cover rent and basics in cheaper neighborhoods.
Tips From People Already Doing It
Wear comfortable shoes the first week or your feet will hate you. Bring water. Learn basic English numbers if the labels come from abroad - helps avoid mistakes.
Some guys I know moved up to supervisor after six months just by being reliable and catching errors early. It's possible.
Keep your phone charged for quick calls when a new listing drops. Those spots fill in hours not days.
Stay safe with proper gloves if handling chemicals or sharp stuff. A few places skimp on that gear so ask before starting.
